Stitch-Along with StitchMakers
StitchMakers is very excited to offer (what we are calling) "Stitch-Along classes" starting 18 March 2024 (and going through to end of November) to create a "Chirp" quilt or wall hanging, designed by Sue Spargo.
To join the classes, there is a registration fee of $100.00. This entitles you to attend 10 classes, the number of classes it will take to make the quilt (the quilt consists of 9 birds and the border). Belinda will be on hand to guide you and provide any assistance that you may need.
You will also need to purchase the kits from StitchMakers and possibly the Chirp Book - see WHAT DO I NEED (below) for more information.
To begin with, there will be 3 classes held every other week (2 x daytime classes and 1 x evening class).
You can choose whatever classes you want to attend, whatever day and times suit you best.
Classes will be limited to 5 people and you will need to book your desired class(es) with Belinda.
If there is a lot of interest, we will offer more time spots.
CLASS TIMES
Mondays - 1.00pm to 3.30pm
Thursdays - 1.00pm to 3.30pm and 6.00 to 8.30pm

LOCATION
These will be held in store, at StitchMakers (1295 Cameron Road, Tauranga).
HOW TO JOIN
To join the classes, you will first have to pay a registration fee of $100.00.

There is no refund if you do not attend all 10 classes.
WHAT DO I NEED?
You will need to purchase kits for each session - there is a total of 10 kits. The kits for the 9 birds are $45.00 each. Available online or instore.
You can choose to buy any of the 9 bird kits in any order you wish ie you don't have to start with kit 1.
The final kit will include the borders and materials to complete the flowers - cost to be advised.
You will need a copy of the Chirp Book - we sell these at a cost of $45.00.
We also recommend Sue's Creative Stitching book as she shares 50 of her favourite stitches.
WHAT'S IN THE KITS?
The kits include all the materials needed to make and embellish the bird blocks.
If you would like to change out the background wool fabric for another colour, please let Belinda know - see Sue Spargo Felted Wool range for alternative colours as this is the range we are using for the quilt.
